Enquiry on the Policy for Scope and Transaction Certificates and Materials Matter Claims and Labeling Policy
Textile Exchange has initiated public consultations for the draft Scope and Transaction Certificate Policy and the draft Material Issues Declaration and Labeling Policy. This offers all stakeholders a chance to give feedback on the proposed changes to these two significant policies within the standard system. These revisions are part of the development of the Material Issues Standard to ensure alignment with the new standard system.
This policy outlines the criteria and guidance for accredited certification bodies to issue Scope and Transaction Certificates under any Textile Exchange standard.
Some of the notable proposed changes involve redesigning the product appendix and replacing the term "Consignee" with "Ship To". Additionally, there are supporting documents available for review.
The feedback period for this draft policy is from January 3, 2025 to January 31, 2025.
It provides clear requirements and guidance for entities aiming to communicate Material Issues Certification and/or Material Issues Certified Products.
This includes updating the permitted claim language and proposing new claim categories. It will also feature a new logo and certification label that are currently in the development stage.
The feedback period for this draft policy is from January 8, 2025 to March 10, 2025.
