Calibration 262 addresses industry confusion around material composition claims for coated, laminated, impregnated, flock-printed, and sequined fabrics, as well as final products derived from these materials. Aligned with ASR-103-V3.1 (B2.2.5) and ASR-104-V3.1 (B2.11), this calibration ensures compliance with labeling regulations while standardizing component-based declarations.
The log of the calibration can be found here:
ASR-221-V2025.6-Calibration-Log.pdf
Effective Date: March 1, 2025 (implementation encouraged immediately)
Mandatory Compliance: July 1, 2025
For non-final products, modify Box 10a heading from "Certified Components" to "Components" to include non-certified materials clearly.
ASR-104-V3.1 typically restricts transaction certificate components to final products, but Calibration 262 creates an exception for specified non-final products.
Coated/Laminated/Impregnated Fabrics: Declare composition based on components (e.g., base fabric + coating material), unless justified by country-specific labeling regulations.
Fabrics with Non-Textile Embellishments:
Partial/full coverage by flock, sequins, beads, etc., must list non-textile components separately.
Yarns with sequins/beads follow the same component-based rule; full-product claims are prohibited.
A full-product claim is allowed only if:
Total trims (including non-textile components in semi-finished inputs) ≤ 10% of final product weight (per CCS-101-V3.1 D4.4).
Required by the country of sale's labeling regulations, or non-certified components are categorized as trims.
Product: 100% recycled post-consumer polyester knitted fabric coated with PU (20% weight).
Component 1: Base fabric (80kg, 100% recycled polyester, RCS 100 certified).
Component 2: Coating (20kg, 100% polyurethane, non-certified).
Base Fabric: RCS-certified recycled polyester.
Sequins & Trims: Total weight <10% (15kg of 215kg).
Claim: 100% recycled post-consumer polyester (with 15kg supplementary weight for trims).
Final Products Sold to Consumers: Adhere to existing final product criteria.
Regulatory Justification: Valid justifications for deviating from component claims include compliance with the country of sale's labeling laws.
